Song: Cosmic Love by Florence + the Machine

Florence is totally amazing and this song is mind-blowing. I feel it's a song for Ellie because I think it's about being in love with someone and having no idea how they feel about you. In ANGELFIRE, Ellie falls in love with her Guardian, Will, but she doesn't know the extent of his feelings for her. She realizes that they feel the same way for each other when he finally reveals to her that he's loved her for centuries. It's such a powerful, romantic song!

I've got another Red song for you guys. This is a Will song through and through, perfectly describing how important his duty as Ellie's Guardian is to him and how deeply she has impacted his heart over the past 500 years. When she's gone, he's lost in life, but when she returns, he finds his purpose again. This is such a longing, romantic song and gives me chills every time I listen to it.

Author video for ANGELFIRE and swag request time!

I can finally share with you guys the promotional author video I shot in NYC back in September! I talk about my book ANGELFIRE and pretty much show you how to kill reapers with a pair of swords. I was really nervous during filming but everyone was so nice and really helped me feel comfortable. Then they gave me a couple swords and I went a little wild. So many thanks to the HarperCollins crew for putting together such an awesome video. WOOOO FIRE!! XD

Please enjoy this instructional video on how to kill reapers. These skills will also be useful during a zombie apocalypse.

Aaaaaand SWAG TIME!!! If you haven't seen my tweets or Facebook post yet, never fear, you can still request swag! Week 5 Giveaway

Song: Human by Civil Twilight

This is an extremely beautiful song and belongs on Ellie's playlist. This song perfectly describes the way Ellie feels upon learning about her destiny and origins, and how she comes to cope with her new responsibilities. With each incarnation, she becomes more and more human and with this most recent life, she doesn't remember who she really is. She is born human, grows up human, fights as something ancient and inhuman, and then she dies human. She struggles with trying to hang on to her human life as she is surrounded by demonic monsters and learns how her humanity can be a great strength. Her relationship with Will is also an interesting dynamic, because they bring out the best in each other and she -- being a bit of a bubblehead and very focused on mundane things sometimes -- teaches him a little about being human, too.

Yo! Here's the official schedule as of now for the appearances I'll be making on the ANGELFIRE tour. This is a tentative tour I'll be on with Leah Clifford, author of A TOUCH MORTAL, which will occur June-ish of 2011. We plan on visiting New York, Boston, Michigan, Ohio, Houston and Dallas, and California. These are by no means confirmed but we'll be figuring out a more official schedule soon!
