It's A Very Fear the Reaper Halloween Contest!

It's my favorite time of the year again - HALLOWEEN!!! We're going to have some fun celebrating too, because I've got THREE copies of Wings of the Wicked to give away and I've got a fun contest idea to boot. Each prize awarded to the winners will contain one signed ARC of Wings of the Wicked (personalized if you'd like!), all 3 Angelfire character bookmarks, and an awesome glow-in-the-dark walking skeleton dude! Before I go into details of what you'll have to do to enter, I'm giving you a teaser page and the first song I made for the Wings of the Wicked soundtrack that I'll be handing out CD's of on tour.

From the WINGS OF THE WICKED soundtrack:
"The Hammer of Gabriel"

This is a spooky song I made about Will

A teaser page from WINGS OF THE WICKED

“Quite the show,” said an achingly deep voice behind me.

I spun, lighting my swords up with angelfire. Two vir reapers, a male and a female, stood twenty feet away from me, their forms half hidden in the darkness between the snowy trees. What startled me, though, was that I couldn’t feel either of them. Even when reapers suppressed their powers, I could still sense them a little, but these two were just dark. Like two black holes sucking in my emotions and what was left of my strength. Like zero energy.

“I am impressed,” the male added as he moved toward me, his voice rough and gravelly, echoing through my gut. Twisted bull’s horns stuck out of his bald head and his body was massive and brawny, but he didn’t look like his size would slow him down. His skin was dark, and his accent was thick and unfamiliar. And his eyes—frigid and the color of moonlight on snow—drilled into mine. “You must be the Preliator. How small you are. I could break you in half.”

“Who are you?” I asked, studying them both. My first thought went back to Cadan’s warning about the vir reapers who would come for me if the nycterids failed. I guessed these two were old—very, very old—and equally skilled, that they could suppress their powers enough that I didn’t have a clue what they were really capable of. I made a silent cry to Will to return soon. If I had to fight them both at once, it wouldn’t be pretty.

“I am Merodach,” he said. “This is Kelaeno.”

My fears had just come true. The female, Kelaeno, looked at me with holly red eyes and a sharp-fanged grin. With long, tangled dark hair, she was more disturbing than frightening. I stared at her face, perplexed by her skin moving as if something stirred beneath it. Her features contorted just enough to be noticeable, as if the bones changed under her skin. Every other second, her face looked like an animal’s, and then it would look like a woman’s. I couldn’t tear my eyes away.

“Ellie!” Will landed beside me in the snow, his white wings outstretched, and Ava wasn’t with him. He stepped forward and cast out his sword, poising it at the newcomers. He was still out of breath from the battle, and I hoped that the new reapers weren’t here to fight.

Merodach surveyed Will’s show of aggression curiously. “The Hammer of Gabriel,” he said with a dark smile. “In the flesh.” Wings, leathery and black as night, spread from his back like a cobra spreading its hood.

At that moment, I felt a quick flash of smoky black power from Merodach, strong enough that I lost my balance as it rushed past my body. The warning was clear and imminent: He was powerful and more than willing to kill.

“What do you want?” Will asked, not flinching from the demonic vir’s display of power.

“We have a warning for the Preliator,” Merodach boomed.

Kelaeno stepped forward, pointing a taloned hand at me, her eyes still on mine. Her face continued to change, like its form was unstable, and dusty gray-brown wings appeared out of her back and spread high and wide. Shadows cast over her face from around the splayed feathers like daggers, making me blink hard as I wondered if I was seeing what was truly in front of me. The skin on her face sank and grew taut over the bones as they stretched, elongating until her appearance was utterly inhuman, and then her face returned to normal. She began to speak, her lips having difficulty forming the words as her face transformed back and forth.

Why this song and this passage? Because this contest is all about character creation, one of the most fun parts of writing a story. All you have to do in order to enter this contest is create your very own vir reaper character like the ones in the Angelfire series and shown in the above excerpt from Wings. Your reaper can be angelic or demonic, and you can give him or her any attributes you'd like. In your mini story, your reaper can be described in any way you'd like, using descriptive passages, dialogue, multiple reaper characters of your own invention, and/or your character interacting with the characters in Angelfire.
(No bonus points for writing a story about your character getting his head lopped off by Ellie or Will, but you do get a high five.)

The simple version of the rules: Write me a mini story about a vir reaper character you made up.
(scary, bloody mini stories also get high fives from me.)

Check out the Halloween treats!

You have until 11:59 October 31st to post your mini story!
I will read every entry and pick my three favorites.
Yes, this contest is INTERNATIONAL :)
HAVE FUN!!!

If you have questions, please them here or @reply me or whatev, and I will try to help you out!

Do we post it somewhere on the web and post the link here or should we just fill it out in the comments section?

Okay here it goes!

I don’t care all that much for vir reaper’s anymore-they're all the same-but out of all I’ve met so far, the one poised in front of me holds my attention. He’s dressed in a white button-up shirt, torn and bloody from my advances with my angelfire, as well as soot-stained jeans and bare feet. He may have been beautiful once, looking at the right side of his face lit by the shadows of the licking flames, with buzzed blonde hair and angular cheeks. But when he turns to me and grins hungrily, half of his face is nothing but scarred meat. I grit my teeth to not show my astonishment, but he must have seen my reaction in my eyes because his grin widens.
“Gruesome huh?” The reaper flexes his fingers around his swords. “We’ve met before, Preliator.”
I tilt my head at his words. I should be used to reapers telling me that they know me, but it’s exhausting trying to remember them all. A small glimpse of a memory shoves itself into my head.
My grip tightens on my own swords. “Aiden,” I whisper.
The vir reaper sneers. “Very good, Preliator. I see your memory is returning. Too bad.” He takes a step towards me. “It’ll make it that much harder for you to die at my hands, knowing that it’s already happened.”
Aiden strikes at me then, but I’m ready. I block his advance, and spin to avoid his other sword. Where are you, Will? He was only a few minutes behind me, but taking a second to glance around the dark, fiery woodland, I see he’s nowhere near me. My momentary distraction gives Aiden just enough leverage to block my attacks and push me to the needled ground. I scramble backwards on my hands until I feel a stabbing pain and my back makes solid contact with a tree trunk.
In a blink, the reaper’s there, standing over me, swords raised.
“I must say, Preliator,” Aiden sneers. “It’s a pleasure killing you twice.” His voice grows tight. “Let this be the last.”
His swords swing towards me—and mine thrust up, crisscrossed to meet his. I catch him off balance and push upward; he’s flung back, landing on a pile and embers. He hurls himself back up instantly, leathery wings erect and nearly blending into the black night above. He growls inhumanly. Then, he cocks his head to the side, like he’s listening for something. Aiden sheaths his swords reluctantly, but I’m too dumbstruck to take advantage.
His sadistic smile is gone when he speaks again. “This. Isn’t. Over.” And with that he takes off into the night.
When he’s out of sight, my arms grow weak and my swords drop to the ground, disappearing. Seconds later, Will appears in their place. His eyes widen as he takes in the blazing scene of the barn and woodland, and then me, with my torn clothes and wild hair.
“What the hell happened?” he asks.
“You wouldn’t know, would you?” I say, plopping gratefully on a fallen tree trunk. “This is what happens when you’re not punctual, Will.”
His jaw tightens. “Who did this?”
I push my ruined hair aside. “Does the name Aiden ring a bell?” His eyes harden. “I take that as a yes.”
Suddenly his hands are on my face, and he kneels before me. He hasn’t touched me like this in so long and my breath catches. “If he comes around again—and I have no doubt he will—you must wait for me to fight him.”
“How?” I ask breathlessly.
His eyes flit to my lips and his brow draws downward. “Any way you can.” And with that he drops my face and turns from me.

Hope that's what you wanted :)

Hey There :D here it is

He was here again. Always the same spot. Always the same time. Always the same person. He knows I'm watching too, his lips slowly twisted into the familiar smirk. Usually his kind are indistinguishable to the human eye, but I'm not quite human though am I, I'm part demon so all the things that go bump in the night are visible to me, especially this Vir Reaper called Riley. His eyebrow quirked up when he noticed me still staring since I usually look away, but I'm too transfixed on the shimmering scar running down his pale white neck. It shouldn't be there, that's where his Vir Reaper Official Mark is meant to be. It's gone, which means he is either no longer a reaper or Riley has passed the test to become the Scraetz, the head reaper, where he no longer needs a mark to be identified. Just the though of him moving even closer to the gates of Hell brings shivers up my spine. I still remember him being MY Riley. The boy kind enough to help me after i tripped up the stairs in front of the whole grade on the first day of school in year 7. The boy who grew into the man who on my 18th birthday, professed his love for me. The black haired, green eyed man who was my angel. He stepped forward to me, one word on those lips I used to kiss, that carried all the way across the street. Just a simple word really. My name.
"Amber..."
I looked away and started to walk back to my house but he was suddenly in front of me. In the black shirt he knew i loved so much.
"What do you want from me?" I hissed. Riley shook his head, giving me the look that still brought my knees weak.
"I don't want anything from you," He whispered, almost silently. "I just want you."
"Yeah, well you had me, then you lost me because you decided Vir Reaper's was your destiny." I added silently, but he seemed to see my non-answer reflected in my eyes.
"But now, I passed the Scraetz test and I'm the biggest, baddest Vir Reaper in the world." He said in his usual sarcastic wit.
"Is that meant to impress me?" I asked.
"No," Riley replied. "But it now means I'm on the good side, well I get to choose what side I want to be on and I choose yours." During his explanation I didn't even realise he had his whole body pressed against mine.
"I. Choose. You." He stated before he coaxed my lips up to meet his.

Ok hi again, I don't know why but apart of my story didn't come up so here is what it was, it's just an addition to a sentence:

"Yeah, well you had me, then you lost me because you decided Vir Reaper's was your destiny." And I wasn't, I added silently, but he seemed to see my non-answer reflected in my eyes.

Also that addition is meant to be in italics but I kinda don't know how to do that XD Thanks for the oppurtunity :D

Pavan H said...

..and because i'm silly, and didn't ask before, but is this an international contest?
(i'm pretty sure that's all i need to say XD)

Okay I have a question? Do our entries have to be one person's point of view or can they switch been say ellie and our own reaper?

I'm going to give it a shot! :)

I've waited years for the preliator to be reborn again for my chance to kill her, or a least bring her in. Now that us demonic Vir have a way to make her never come back once she's gone, I'm going to be the one to take her down.

I've heard stories of the power the preliator's posess, and with that angelic vir be her side, I know that it will be some challenge. That's why I brought along another demonic vir, a bear like creauture that can tear her to shreds in one swipe.

We have found the perfect location to sneak up on them. Tonight they are training, and are too distracted with that and eachother to notice our approuch.

"On the count of three we're going in for the kill!" I tell my partner, marcuis.
He nods his head.
"One...two..three" I say no louder than a wisper.

As soon as the words are out of my mouth we charge from the brush that we hide behind towards the preliator and her companion, Will.

We aren't as much of a surprise as we thought we would be. Is as if they knew we were coming. We no longer have the upper hand in this battle.

"Well look who it is" says Will "Xues. Are you ready to die this time around?" He says with a sneer.
"In your dreams" I say " You failed to last time, and you will fail again this time."

"We are here for the girl" Marcuis says, cutting off our conversation. In the next second he charges at Ellie, who is prepared with her blades of Angelfire. What an idiot! Now I am forced to fight before I am fully prepared.

"This time I will kill you!" Will threats.
"Like hell you will."

Will tackles me to the ground, the fight has begun! WE roll in the dirt trying to pin eachother to the ground. In the distance I can hear the fight between marcuis and Ellie. I look over just in time to see one of the blades, that only the preliator can wield go through Marcuis's head. It rolls a few feet before it and the rest of his body combust into ash, and blow away in the wind. One on two, the odds don't look good for me.

Seeing this I know... I know that I will not live more then a few more minutes. I have lost his battle, and I am furious. I try pushing Will away to try yo make a move to escape and live to see another day.

"No you don't, not today. Or any other for that matter!" Will says." How does it feel to know your about to die?"
"Please..I won't give your were about! Just let me go!" I beg in my last efforst to survive. Of course everything I say is a lie, the first thing I'll do it tell, and then get renforcments.

At this point I thrust Will and jump up on to my feet, and pin Will to a tree.

Will Smiles.

And then I feel the most painful thing I have ever felt. I look down at my chest and see a blade engulfed in flames prtuding from my chest. Angelfire. I am done for.

"Go back to the depths of hell that you came from." Ellie says as I die before her.

The last thing I see before I die is Will's face filled with Triumph. The last though I hvae is that I have failed and I will not have another chance. Then there is nothing, I cease to existed. I am dust in the wind.

I hope you like it and I hope maybe I'll be one of the lucky three you pick. I had fun doing it anyways :) Thanks!

Here's a way to contact me in case you need to! ;D

It was so dark and cold. A chill snake's it way up the curve of spine.
"What's this?" The words float through the room. The voice is deep, alluring. I spin on my heels. My sword's tip poised and ready to strike.
"Where are you?" I ask. My voice a strained whisper.
"Is that fear I smell, Preliator. Fear is your enemy girl." The voice is sickly sweet. My stomach turns as my eyes scans the dark room.
With a thought the bulb hanging over head buzz as it comes to life.
White light awakens the darkness. The In the corner stood a tall figure leaning against the wall. His arms and legs crossed in front of him. He is still as a statue. I gasp and step back. The stranger's face is a sight I have yet to see of a vir reaper. Half of his face is scales. It housed eyes like a cat's. The other half was normal. Beautiful. Smooth and white with blue eyes.
"Who are you?" I manage to say.
He grins. His teeth are white and razor sharp. "I am Alanz and I know who you are, Viena." He moves away from the wall and came a little closer. Every muscles in my body wants to react. Instead I stand strong, staring into his eyes. He continues.
" I have been waiting a long time to see you again."
"Do I know you?"
"In this life. No. In many others. Yes. I have waited the moment when finally I would face you again." His face changes into a grimace. Gnashing his teeth with the sheer thrill of the moment. I look upon the beautiful monster's face unsure of what to do. I will angelfire to my blades. They ignite.
He watches with intense curiosity. I could feel his power now filling the room. I felt his force knock me off my feet and slam me into the wall. The swords fly from hands. They land a few feet away from me. As I try to climb to my feet. Cold clawed fingers cage my neck and I am lifted of the floor. He slams me into the wall again, but the this time the pain is severe. My shoulder is heavy and I can feel metal running through it. He unclasp my neck and backs away looking at his handy work. I groan in pain as I try to move.
"Come on Preliator. I expected more. Please give me a fight. I don't want to have kill you so easily...again."
I am tired. The pain unbearable. I am more tired of getting my ass kicked.. I am stronger than this. I concentrate like I had trained. I pull the strength from every memory I could find. Friends. Life. Lucas. I pull myself from the metal and I land on my knees. I scurry back, clutching my wounded shoulder until I hit the wall.
Alanz moves closer, his sick snake grin never living his lips.
"No where to go. Now where to hide. All that’s left is for you is to die. Once and for all."
I stifle a groan. The blood flows more heavily from the wound now. I feel lightheaded.
'This not the end. Not this way.'The only face I saw at the end of that thought was Lucas. His piercing green eyes. His smile. I rise dizzily to my feet. .
"You know your wrong. I don't die today." I stare him down like in a gunfight. Taking quick glances at my swords.
"Is thought so Preliator." he hissed, " Tell me, what will be the outcome?" he asked with a childlike wonderment.
"You die!"
I sprint forward. Sliding between his legs, grabbing my swords. Angelfire ignites the blade and I leap into the air with a backward flip and swipe my swords twice. I land on my knees in front of him. Angelfire glows like the morning sun. I peer up to see Alanz frozen, his eyes wide with confusion.
"Give this message to your friends." I say, "The Preliator lives and I'm ready to fight." I plunge the blade upwards into his chest. The vir reaper burst into flames, his head slides off his shoulder and lands as pile of ash on the floor.

Try to keep your mini stories about 500, guys! :)

@story seekers If your story is longer than what you can post in a comment, just post multiples. No biggie.

@Miy The point of view may be from anyone, as long you have an original character in it :)

@Tiffany Not really, but I'd prefer there be less than 500 words to save time in deciding winners. Plus blogger has comment limits =/

Is it possible to post more than one mini story?

Is it required to put characters from Angelfire into the story?

Miy said...

@storyseekers No it's not required at all.

Miy said...

Here's the first part of my mini story. Sorry if it's a bit long.

I stand there watching the girl silently from the shadows, her long wavy hair the color of dark crimson flames mixed with rich dark-chocolate and her eyes are two oval spheres made of thick, liquefied hazelnut. Her body is slender and her skin a little too pale for my taste but then again she’d always been pale-skinned. At least some of her past reincarnations have always been that way. I’ve never once thought that a person—human or otherwise—could ever have fair skin. It’s not possible to be fair skinned no matter how hard you try because no one has flawless skin but….anyway. Not wanting to go there due to having no desire for a headache or worse her bitching at me about how a girl’s skin is the most important thing to her. Ugh just thinking about her makes my head start to hurt but I ignore the pain and simply continue my surveillance of the Preliator and her guardian.

“Airi! So have you found her yet?” A high-pitched and not to mention annoying voice asks me excitedly as they watch from their post on the warehouse's roof, their black leather dress shoes never once making a sound as he sits there perched like a Gothic gargoyle—a mischievous smile plastered on his face—also watching the girl known as Ellie and William chat about who knows or gives a damn what.

“What does it look like to you?” I respond coldly, my eyes shifting from various colors in the darkness and my back aching with pent-up tension as if the urge to fly down from our hiding place and stop hiding like a bunch of cowards in the shadows is just too tempting resist. One look at my partner and I know he’s about to do something stupid—his dark eyes gleaming with desire and excitement washing over him in large overbearing waves. Sure enough, before I can even say another word, he jumps down from the roof, causing a huge crash where he’d just been standing. There he goes again. Ugh why the hell am I always stuck working with him? Oh well let’s get this over with. I mentally groan and mumble to myself in annoyance before dropping down into the warehouse myself, my feet landing on the dusty yet clean concrete floor with a faint thud.

To me the whole building looks too bright and thick smell of dust almost makes me want to sneeze—the sharp and harsh ceiling lamps hurting my eyes, the sclera in them that are normally white shifting almost violently and my wings, the color of a bloodstone in the darkness threaten to burst free from my shoulder blades at any moment—causing them to turn black as onyx coals. I move a hand to shield my eyes from the light, wishing it could be a little bit darker in the room so it won’t hurt my eyes so much. With a faint flick of my left

Here's the second part of my mini story. I'm not done with the other part to it so I'll try and send it in before the deadline of the contest is done.

wrist, the lights instantly dim a bit, giving me relief from their unforgiving kisses and stopping myself from exposing my true form. I turn away from the now dimmed lights to face Ellie and Will and just as I’m about to speak, the idiotic thing I’m forced to call my partner beats me to it.

“I see you haven’t changed much since the last time we met, eh Gabriel?” He says with a cheerful smirk on his face, causing Ellie and Will to jump in surprise and automatically summon their swords to their hand, both blades gleaming like silver pearls. Obvious recognition crosses over Will’s face and one look at the tall, bulky-framed male with skin the color of the sun at sunset,—a rich golden brown—deep mahogany-red eyes contrasting with his spiky and unruly pale silver hair and a black tailored suit and he shakes his head, dark walnut hair falling into his emerald orbs before dismissing his sword.

Seeing their swords,—especially Ellie’s khopesh swords—I sigh softly and hold up a hand to stop her, knowing that she doesn’t trust us before slowly removing my hood from my face. Seeing my face, Ellie’s dark hazel eyes widen and I know that a strong sense of recognition has also crossed her features—but she doesn’t dismiss her swords and instead looks at Will dumbly in shock, clearly unsure of why he’d dismissed his sword so easily since she has no idea that we’re actually on her side. Well at least, I am. My acquaintance on the other hand is the main one I wouldn’t trust as far as I can throw him blindfolded in the middle of a black hole and trust me, I can throw him pretty damn far too.

“H-how…how do you know my name and who are you?” Ellie replies softly, her voice full of uncertainty and obvious curiosity as she never once takes her eyes off me. I know what she’s seeing and I almost smirk in dark satisfaction. Like I said almost. Keeping my usual frown stuck on my face, I give her the once over and my verdict on her is simple: Not worth the trouble from the demonic or the angelic reapers. Ugh what the hell had Michael been thinking when he decided to charge this simple-minded brat with the fate of mankind’s souls? I ponder to myself for a few minutes before I force my thoughts to come back to the present, hating the fact that I’d allowed my concentration to slip up a little bit.

I bend over and placed my two fingers on the guy’s throat. There was no pulse. My eyes began to water, as I try the girl next to him. She didn’t have a pulse, either. I didn’t give up, even though I knew the same fate came over all of them.

Everyone at the party was dead, but me.

I ran to the master bedroom to check on Veronica. She was still lying on the bed, her hands on her forehead. I saw her chest was still moving and let out a sigh of relief. I went to the balcony windows, and peered out. The storm was still above us, rain pounding against the wood outside. I see a staircase leading down to the driveway. I grabbed the doorknob to open, but it wouldn’t budge. I pushed my weight against the door, but the thing still wouldn’t open. I grabbed a chair near the desk in the room. I threw it against the window, hoping it would break.

The chair bounced off the window and landed on the floor with a broken leg. I stared at it in disbelief. I tried the doorknob again, tears now streaming down my face. I pound on the door, screaming at it. It was hopeless, the damn thing wouldn’t open.

The only choice I had left was to go through the front door. Dragging Veronica to the door, through those bodies, it wasn’t going to be easy. I’m not strong, and I didn’t want to do that, it seemed heartless. I would have to move the bodies first. I shuttered at the thought.

I stepped out to the hallway, and did a double take. The bodies were gone in the hallway. I ran to the banister and peered downstairs. Everyone was gone. This had to be a trick. Someone was playing a game on the new girl. I knew I shouldn’t have come to this party.

“Okay, guys!” I yelled as I climb the staircase. “You guys scared the crap out me. Ha ha, very funny.”

I go to the front door and twist the knob. It wouldn’t open either. I started wiggling it and pulling on it.

“Okay guys, this isn’t funny no more.”

“I find it very funny.” A guy’s voice came from behind. I spun around.

He stood in the doorway to the kitchen. My jaw dropped. His features were gorgeous. He had curly, tousled brown hair that surrounded his high cheek bones, and square jaw. His eyes seemed to glow like reddish brown. He was tan, tall, and muscular. Unfortunately, there was some odd dark glow that was surrounding his body that turned his looks into something frightening. He was like a beautiful nightmare.

A girl came up behind him. I recognized her right away. She was the girl that was hanging out with Leon. She had the odd glow surrounding her also. Her model looks were no longer there. She looks more like a cougar ready to attack.

Part2:

Her fierce eyes were focused on me like I was her prey.

“Who are you? Where is everyone?”

She placed her hand on his shoulder, and leaned against him. “This is for your own good, Marina. You just keep getting in the way.”

“What do you mean?” I stepped back into the front door. My hand tightened around the doorknob.

“I surprised you haven’t figured it out yet. Someone is trying really hard to keep your memories away from you.” She answered. She walked over to me, her heels clicking against the wood. The sound echoed through the empty house. She stopped in front me, and begins to move my hair away from my face. I shivered under her touch. “You look so much like your mother. It’s shame what happened to her.”

What was she talking about? What happened to my memories? Were these the people that killed my parents? “What did you do to her?” I hissed out.

“It was him, not me.” She nodded her head towards the guy. He smiled in response. “This time, it will be my turn.” She took a hold of my hair and pulled me away from the door. I screamed and tried to pull away but her grip was firm. She grabbed my shoulder, digging her nails into me, and pushed me into the guy’s arms.

I tried to run before the guy could get a hold of me. The guy’s hand wrapped around my upper arm and pulled me to him. The girl smacked me across the face. I tasted the blood in my mouth.

“Let’s get this over with. Julius is expecting us.” The girl snapped.

The guy turned me to face the girl. He gripped my shoulders so, I couldn’t turn away. The girl snapped her fingers, and fire sparked from it. Fire spread over her hand, and I stared at it in shock. She moved closer to me, and I screamed. She tried to place the flames near my heart. I knew it was hopeless; I wonder what would happen to Veronica? Someone had to save her. Unfortunately, there was no one here to save me or her. The girl smiled, like she knew I given up.

“Don’t worry, darling, you will see your mother soon−” The door crashed into the floor behind her. Her fire disappeared and she hissed at the intruder. “You are not supposed to be here.”

Whoever it was shoved her aside. She flew and hit the wall. Pictures fell from the wall, crashed all around her. She screamed something to the guy holding me. Something black, smooth, and hot quickly wrapped around me. The guy lifted me up with him, and we crashed through the living room window. Everything was happening so fast. I felt cool wind swirling around us. Rain poured down on us, and I felt legs dangling underneath me. His arms tightened against my chest. I closed my eyes tightly afraid to see what was happening.

storyseekers said...

Part3:
Something flew passed us and the guy screech in agony. His body went limp and I slipped from his arms. I screamed as I fell through the sky. I saw the ground coming towards me, closer and closer. I waved and kicked frantically. I was going to fall to a very painful death. I closed my eyes.

My body crushed into a strong pair of arms, warmth overcoming me immediately. I was still swinging my arms madly, afraid that it was the girl.

“Stop moving or I will let you fall to your death.” A familiar guy’s angered voice hissed into my ear.

I opened my eyes, and looked around. I saw a shirtless Darien, the ground below us, and the sky around us. This is SO not normal, and I continued my screaming.

“Put me down, put me down, PUT ME DOWN!” I yelled at him frantically. I slapped him on his chest repeatedly.

“You look cute, but I’m not putting you down.” He smiled and continued his flight. Whoever….no wait…whatever he is, couldn’t be a good thing for me. I had no choice though, but to wait. But once we were on the ground, Darien was so going to pay for all this.

"Kelaeno and Merodach are such wastes of space." I told the air around me. Watching as dozens of reaper eyes turned towards me, confused by my hatred.

After all, I was the one who could truly frighten even the almighty Preliator. I don't follow my leaders orders like a trained pup with a 3-foot-long leash, if there is an oppurtunity I attack. If I had been in their place, the Preliator would be bleeding on the ground right now, head at my mercy, my blade ready to run through her fragile little neck.

Apparently he doesn't think I'm prepared enough to face the girl.
Apparently these claws that have been dipped in the glorious blood of both of our enemies are too destructive for his taste. Perhaps the scars on my face with their winding, magical purposes, are too frightening for her innocence.

"GAH!" The reaper next to me roared as I slashed into his body with those very claws that he had rejected. I watched as the pathetic creature writhed in agony before finally determining that there is no point in elongating the inevitable.

Once the thing actually stopped moving I realized that I didn't have to wait. He wasn't here to stop me. I could go, I could take the Preliator's life with only one squeeze of my ash-colored hand. Once she is dead, I will carve her skin from her body and wear it proudly as a symbol of what I, Belial, can truly do.

I spread my thinnner than mist, almost luminescent wings, readying for what was sure to be the greatest act in history.

I will kill the Preliator and the final glory will be mine. Only mine.

Okay, well, hoping for the best, here's mine :)

Part 1

"Ah, Miss Bellard! How pleasant to see you after such a long time!" The receptionist stood up behind his counter when I entered the large, empty hall.

Three days? Such a long time? Yeah, right… I stopped myself from looking at him like at an imbecile. I bet he was practicing these lines since he had learnt I was coming.

I was looking straight ahead, pacing toward the elevator past the man whose name I didn’t even know. It started with an ’L’, I think. Larry. Maybe Leroy. Like it mattered...

I pulled the two long pins out of my hair that kept my tight bun in place. That damn bun which made me feel like my scalp had been torn off my skull. I dropped the pins with a nonchalant move and allowed myself a moment to enjoy the sensation of my hair falling down my back, cascading about my shoulders.

Then Mr. L appeared by my side, apparently trying to gain my attention. "You are ravishing as always." How sweet! And pathetic.I took off my blazer and thrust it aside, right in the waiting arms of the man. At least he was compliant. Good boy.

"You’re awaited, Miss Bellard, in the conference room." Like I didn’t know. What the hell would I be doing here otherwise? I rolled my eyes, but remained silent, eyes locked on the target. Just a few more steps. "Have a nice staying." Obviously it didn’t bother him that he could have been talking to a statue as well, he would have got the same result. Nothing.

I reached the elevator, this oversized jewel-box. Marble floor, shiny golden buttons and mirrors on each wall. I turned on my heels as I stepped inside, pushed a button, and finally looked at Mr. L. A mischievous smile formed on my lips as I reached back and started to pull down the zip of my dress. I spun when my hand was at the small of my back, and I let the dress slip off my shoulders. It fell on the floor just after the doors had closed with a ding.

For a moment though I saw L’s face, his eyes wide, mouth agape. It was the expression that I used to see on people’s faces when they were in terrible pain. Poor man, he didn’t even know what was going on here. If he’s lucky enough, I will kill him myself before he figures anything out. For his sake. And mine if I’m hungry. Only if he didn’t get a heart-attack now.

Part 2

In the moving elevator I had too short time alone. I made some clothes appear I was more familiar with, like a bodice, tight pants and boots. Hopefully I wouldn’t need any weapons. If it came to that though, I’d rather not be unarmed, but that could be solved in a split moment.

The elevator had already stopped a while ago, but I was just gazing at my reflection in the mirror. Originally, I had wanted to brace myself against the next minutes, but my thoughts drifted away. I had to get hold of myself. And so I did. With a deep inhale I left for the conference room where he was waiting for me, sitting on the far side of a long table.

"Cadan!" I gave him my most brilliant smile, like I was so glad to see him. Well, I might be glad if… "Have you brought me what I asked?" I took a seat at the head of the table in front of him. That 25 feet distance between us was somehow reassuring.

"Do you have anything to offer in return?" He finally spoke, though for some seconds I seriously doubted he would say anything.

"This little task of yours turned out to be a bit more complicated than expected." I leaned back in the chair putting my feet on the table.

"Should I take this as a no, Astrid?"

I looked up and met his glowing gaze. "No. Of course not. I’m just concerned that the payment doesn’t equalize the risk and time I’m taking to accomplish this project. I’m afraid you can’t afford me. Now, do you have what I’ve asked?" Honestly, I was content with myself, I sounded determined enough.

A faint smile fell about his lips and my blood ran cold. "Dear Astrid, if my memory doesn’t forsake me, we have a deal. You bring me information about the Preliator and you get what you asked when the contract was made. No backing out." He laced his fingers together and cocked his head to the side watching me so intently, I suddenly felt the urge to flee. "So, do you have anything to tell me or you will blabber about being underrated until I get bored of you and find myself repainting this lovely room with your blood?"

Very well, it’s time to change strategy then. I stood up on the table and walked to Cadan looking as calm as ever. I sat down in front of him, hooked my feet under his chair and pulled him closer. As I lowered myself onto his lap, I wrapped my arms around his neck. I even managed a smile when I conjured up my dagger and skimmed its point over the back of his neck drawing idle patterns as I spoke. "Always so business-like, why don’t you rest sometime? Let me soothe these tensed muscles, you know you are in good hands." My voice was barely over a whisper and I leaned so close to him I felt his warm breath on my skin.

At first he didn’t move, he was just regarding me curiously, his eyes wondering like he couldn’t decide whether I was sane. I was asking the same question from myself. Then suddenly, with no previous sign, he grabbed me by my hips, pushed me off him and the next thing I knew was that I was lying on the ground, Cadan’s fierce grip on my neck pinning me to the floor. A sharp pain shot through my body with the impact and a dull throb began in me head. It was too long ago I’d last eaten, I figured. I knew the pupils of my eyes had turned into thin slits as they usually did when I was in any kind of danger. My free hand curled into fist by my side, the other held the dagger tighter, ready to use it, but other than that I made no move, not wanting to make my situation worse.

"Let’s stick to the subject, shall we? Do you have any information or not?" He asked me, his face like and avenging angel’s; cold, beautiful, yet deadly.

It was quite hard to talk while being choked. "I told you, it’s more difficult than we thought. They aren’t fools, I need more time." So much of my long price.

"Then maybe if you are more goaded you will work harder. You wanted better remuneration? We will see how much you appreciate your life." And with that he was gone.

“You stupid little wench!” My sister yelled as she nailed another kick to Mirajane’s stomach. “Why can’t you do anything right!” Her next kick sent her flying into the concrete wall. She fell to the ground out of breath with chunks of rock raining down on her body. Mira’s injuries were bad enough as it is and she couldn’t heal fast enough.
Kaleneo wrapped her hand around her younger sister’s white and pulled Mirajane to her feet while she cried out in pain and frustration.
“Do you want to know how much I care for your petty life? No one needs you here!” Those words sent a chill down Mirajane’s back. She was still a child compared to her older sister. Kaleneo spit on her face and that was the last straw.
She felt the familiar surge of my power well up inside of her. Holding it in Mirajane looked Kaleneo in her eyes that would forever be changing and let her power fly.
Kaleneo’s shocked eyes were the last things saw before she flew into the wall behind her, taking a few vir reapers with her. Rocks and dust fell on her, covering her body in a thin layer of gray.
Her body was moving on its own accord. Angelic and Demonic reapers alike were gazing at Mirajane with fear and shock, that she had just taken down their leader with one hit and was still standing with the injuries she had taken. She felt her eyes start to burn, turning to the familiar purple when the power took over. She knew that it didn’t matter that the same blood ran between herself and Kaleneo; Mirajane had to save the Preliator. She was the only hope for them and for the existence of the Grim.
Before the reapers charged upon me, she screamed. The super sonic charge blasted the first row of reapers through the wall taking the still unconscious Kaleneo with them. Blood covered the rocks like paint and the next row of reapers were wary of the power that Mira owned. Smiling she stood on my right leg since the other was broken.
“Are you going to let me go or do you want to die here with the others?” she asked in her sweetest voice. They knew that when Mira got serious, the demon part of her wants to be acknowledged. Right now, the sweet and innocent part of her was long gone.
One male reaper stepped up with no hesitation, but his hands were slightly shaking. “We shall let you pass. But you know that you will be killed for your betrayal to us.” Stupid reaper. He should know that as long as I’m in this form, pain won’t come until I let it come.
Mirajane smirked. “Would any of you like to take me on now?” she spread my arms out to either side of me. “Take your best shot.”
No one moved.
“Well, I guess I can walk free.” Turning around the Angelic and Demonic reapers made a path, like Moses parting the red sea.
Preliator, if you ever need my help, I will always be at the ready.

And that’s it………..plus im only 13…so that’s my best….

**It's hard to create a whole story with less than 500 words, so mine is more like an intro to the relationship between an angelic reaper and a preliator type character.

"I feel the power come at me from behind, strong, and then weak again. The reaper, demonic or angelic, I can’t tell yet, is testing the waters. Testing me. Perhaps out of fear, or maybe curiosity. I let it control the current situation. Let if feel in charge, be the one with power. I have no fear at the moment, just an eagerness to confront the reaper at my back and destroy it if need be. I let my footsteps fall at a pace of my choosing. Allowing myself to control something, even if it only be the speed at which I travel. And then I feel it. Too much power to have my back turned and to not know exactly what it is I may be facing. I allow my feet to twist my body, but with it comes a shock I was not expecting. My eyes lock with those of the reaper before me and a chill sweeps through my body, leaving it frozen in place. With an icy glare directed at me, I am unsure why I am suddenly becoming so warm inside. And then it dawns on me. This could be my downfall. At the hand of a reaper with a beautiful face and a heart full of death. With eyes that can mesmerize and destroy in a single glance. Because I am both. Mesmerized and destroyed, and it took nothing more than a single, simple look. If this reaper wanted to cause me harm, it would be an easy task. He would be swift and skillful and I could be dead. Yet I’m not. So I speak to him as if we are unknown allies, and I can only hope that we are.
“What is your name reaper?”
He turns his head to the side slightly, examining me. Trying to figure me out. Was I wrong to trust him? No. No I don’t think so.
“My name is Raphael.” He speaks softly, then pauses. “But you can call me Rafe.”
An unspoken conversation continued between the two of us. Judging, deciding. Each of us contemplating whether or not the the other can be trusted. And just like that, our mutual need for an ally, a friend, became clear, and our partnership was formed."

Here's part 1..

The Dream with in a dream:

Darkness.. Darkness.. Darkness is everywhere.... All around me.... Drowning me.... All I can see is a dark pool of nothing.... Where was I?
Did I died? My body feels dead, empty.... Will I continue to fall into nothing... Is this the end? But before I can answer that question, the darkness starts to fad around me until I'm standing in a open field in a forest.. I was surrounded by trees in every direction.. I had no idea where I was... and how I got there. But something wasn't right.. Like one minute I was falling in a pool of nothing, then the next minute I appeared in a forest...... Then suddenly a path appears in front of me. At first I linger where I was standing, not sure if I should move... Until I hear a strange sound behind me... "Argrowwwwww"........ I slowly turn around ready to face whatever was behind me.... But there was nothing there..... What the??? I swear I heard something I thought to myself... Then I hear it again much louder this time...... "Argrowwwwww"........ I turn in a full circle in every direction to try to seek out where the sound was coming from.... I felt a dark premonition and heard three words in soft ghostly voice....

"HELLO GIRL"....... "DIE".......

I ran... Not knowing what else to do.... I started to run for the hills though the forest, not daring to look back to open up the fear to what was really behind me.... I ran with nothing but the sound of my boots against the woodland ground and my hair blowing against the wind and even when I lost my breath I kept going... When the forest ended and I came face to face to a cliff... I soon realized that I was trapped... Like a bird in a cage...

Haaaaaa..... When I heard that laugh behind me, all my fears that I kept close was surfacing back up again.... I spun around wishing that I had some kind of weapon for whoever this person was.... The laughing stopped and someone started to speak, somewhere in the woods... Stop the running Katherine, it will get you no where..... A male voice... rough, sharp, and like his voice was made of air.. That sent a sharp echoing ping to your insides... Who are you and what do you want with me? I screamed to the dark woods in front of me... A dark figure suddenly steps away from the tree that it was next to, like it was part of it... When the dark figure's appearance came into view where I could see it better... I saw that it was a young man, maybe 19 or 20.... He had a hard look on his face with solid black hair, and with eyes that look like they were on fire... Without looking at me, he said... You'll find out soon enough............... He repeated those words over and over again, in a mocking kind of voice that sent a chilly feeling inside me... I had it with this guy and his games.... I took a deep breath and said.... Quite playing games and tell me who you are.... I said once more, in a firm voice this time.... He suddenly looks up this time, and his eyes met mine and he smiles.. A dark evil smile that sent a chill up my spine...

My name is Bloodlock, and I'm impressed that you made it this far Katherine..... Because now..... "YOUR GOING TO DIE"..........

Here's Part 2:

His voice suddenly changes to the ghostly voice that I heard in the field earlier.. But that wasn't the only thing that change...... His boy face started to melt and change to a white boney look, his fire eyes, turn cat like and glowed brighter then ever.. He looks up and smile at me, with his bloody sharp teeth..... He started to walked toward me with his razor sharp now hands at his side, and as he did.... gray-black wings suddenly appeared behind his back and cover him like a misty cloak.. Bloodlock was getting closer now... and the more he did, I took a step back... Until there was nothing but me... and the edge of cliff... Panic started to fill my whole body.. I had no where else to ran, and I felt more trap then ever...

"NO WHERE ELSE TO RUN GIRL".... Haaaaaaa.....

He then runs the rest of the way toward me, the next thing I know.... I'm over the cliff...... All I can see is the rushing sensation of my body falling once more, and Bloodlock's evil grin...... I close my eyes knowing all too well that I was going to die...

But instead of feeling the sharp pain of the hard rocks below... I felt a soft pair of hands around me.. I slowly open my eyes.. and when I did, they set upon the most beautiful pair of green eyes I ever saw... It was another young boy... With sandy brown hair with a strong build to him and behind him I could see a set of white wings.... Was I dead? I thought to myself... He looks me in the eye and smiles, a kind smile... Once again I close my eyes and lean my head closer to his chest.. For the first time I felt safe... Haaaaa.... Until I hear Bloodlock's evil laugh, my eyes flew open and I saw him staring at us with a cold dark look in his eyes....

I was wondering when you were going to turn up Will.....
Will slowing puts me down, and looks Bloodlock straight in the eye and grins...

Well... it wouldn't be much of a party without me would it? humm??

Don't mock me Boy, I'm here for the Preliator nothing else....

Will's face goes completely blank, he turns towards me with a look I cannot comprehend, then turns back toward Bloodlock.. Will suddenly pulls out a long sword from a belt, wrapped around his waist and points it toward Bloodlock, which makes him smile his evil grin... I look between them both, with an uneasy feeling that something was going on that I didn't understand....

Wolfgirlbooklover said...

Here's part 3:

Well... your not taking her.... And you'll have to get past me first... to do so.....
He stood in front of me blocking Bloodlock from reaching me...

Is that a death wish Will?

His eyes said everything, when I looked into them...

Bloodlock runs toward Will, with his talon hands at the ready aiming for Will.. But Will was ready and he leaped in the air with one back flip over Bloodlock's head and landed neatly behind him.. Before he could even react, Will's sword struck a blow at Bloodlock which sends him screaming..... A loud bone chilling scream, and his whole body beginning to turn unto ash... Bloodlock looks at me with a hard look, and said in a soft whispering voice...

This isn't over........ We will meet again Preliator.....

Then he disappears into the misty wind.... Will wipes his sword on his shirt and places it back on his belt. He then looks up, and looks at me with a smile....

I look at him with a disbelief look, and crossed my arms to make my point..... He looks at me once more, bends back and laughs... With a bell like sound to it... He walks toward me still laughing and said..

Your something else... You know that?

This time it was my turn to laugh, and man... did it feel good... Then he does the unthinkable, he kisses me..... I can feel his soft lips on mine as he pulls me in closer toward him... I close my eyes and wrap my arms around him hoping that this moment never ends... But some things have to come to an end right? He suddenly leans back to break the kiss.... I open my eyes to see why he stopped, but I was greeted with a smile....

Why did you stop?

Because it's time for you to wake up...

What!!!

You'll see... Until the time I want you to remember this... Help is never far away, and that some dreams are real...
Then suddenly Will and everything around me starts to fade...

Will what's happening?

Your exiting this realm Katherine...

I don't want to leave Will....

I know... some things have to come to an end, but don't forget what I said... That help is never too far away... and that some dreams are real... Remember that... Remember that........... He says over and over again, in a soft whispering voice... as I slowly awaken in my room.. I sat up and turn toward my clock, it reads 12:00 am.... Hum... How strange....

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Here goes nothing:

A dark tunnel.

Of all places to send me, he sends me to a dark tunnel in the middle of nowhere. I groan inwardly. I knew some of the other demonic vir enjoyed hunting in darkened places--alleys, tunnels--but I was certainly not one of them. I preferred hunting in sunlit places, somewhere where I could see what I was lopping off rather than sawing off a partner's arm by accident. And besides, this place was just dingy and smelled like skunk. I scrunched up my nose in disgust. I could almost taste the musky air as I moved along the narrow passageway, my practiced feet moving soundlessly across the gravelly ground. Walking forward I brought my arm up to swat away a cobweb and gave a whispered sigh. I honestly couldn't understand why reapers insisted on hunting the Preliator. Couldn't they see it was a lost cause? No, they can't, I think to myself. They're too self-absorbed. And my master is no different. I'm instantly drawn back into a memory, fresh from a few days ago.
I stifle a grunt as I'm shoved forcefully down onto my knees by two of my master's servants.
"So. You failed. Again" His voice was an eerie calm like that before a storm. Slowly, I look up, taking in black combat boots, jeans, a tight T-shirt, and blond hair with piercing blue eyes that had a gaze sharp enough to kill. He was siting atop an obsidian throne. The bones of his enemies littered the ground around his throne.
"It was only to be expected, though. how many have you killed this week, Azralich? This month? None." I stare at the ground, sweat beading down my face, and I pray that it does not fall to the floor--I can not show fear.
"You will have to redeem yourself, Az." I stare at the ground as he gets up and circles me. Suddenly, he's beside me and I can feel his sifting through my hair. He knows I hate it, and that's why he does it. With anyone else it would have been fascination, my hair was as light as moondust. But he did it to scare me. I waited in horror as he knelt down and spoke in my ear, giving me my commands. My eyes grew wide when I heard them, but I couldn't let him know I was afraid.
Then I was dismissed. I went to my room to prepare and stopped at the mirror. Aside from my hair being so pale, my eyes were black and my flesh was stretched so tight over my bones it was almost translucent. My hair hung down to my waist and I reached down to tie it up. I was about as tall as the mirror now, four inches short of six feet tall. My face and hands were scarred after being cut so badly that it couldn't heal properly. I had a scar running down the side of my face from temple to mouth. Most reapers would find this attractive, but I couldn't see the appeal. Sighing, I walked away to an uncertain fate.
I shake my head, trying to get rid of the horrible memory, but it wouldn't go.

Theodora said...

Bracing myself, I walked gingerly forward, toward a light at the end of the tunnel. I slipped out the dagger that my master had given me before leaving. I was surprised he had given me anything--he wasn't known for kindness.
Peering into the clearing ahead, I held my breath and walked forward to see...
Nothing.
Furrowing my brow, I stepped forward into the clearing.
And they came upon me. I whipped my dagger up to my face to deflect the blow, but I was too slow and the blade skimmed my cheek. I cried out, more in surprise than pain--it burned.
Only then did I notice where I was standing. The clearing was shadowy at the edges and bright in the center where I was standing. My opponent had the perfect place to hide, and I was a perfect target. There's a flash behind me--fire?--and I turn, too late deflect the bow. This one sweeps my legs from under me and I crumple to the ground. I was down for half a second, but that was enough for them to strike. Cuts opened on my legs and arms. They began to heal, but not fast enough, and blood blossomed, staining my clothes. I gasped as I felt a burning sensation spread throughout my body. I had to get up, I had to. Achingly slow, I reached out and grabbed my dagger, bringing up my arm in a painful arc to deflect the next strike. Then--pain bursting through me-- I jumped up and back into someone's arms. His arms wrapped around my throat and waist, binding my arms to my body, my dagger clattering to the ground.
I hear something scrape across the ground and look up, seeing the girl--my attacker-- move forward. She came toward me and raised the blade, resting it on my collarbone as her partner removed that arm.
"Azralich. It's a nice name. Too bad we won't be able to find out what it means. Then she took a swing at me. And the last thing I remembered was Bastian's voice telling me--as I knelt on the ground-- to kill the Preliator.

Yay!
well, gave it all i had.
Hope i win!
( Wellie forever )
I’m so sorry! Went overboard with the word limit!

“Hello Preliator,” hissed the demonic vir reaper. “It has been some time since we last met; you still look gorgeous as ever.”

My stomach lurched when I turned to look at the demonic vir reaper. I willed my swords to come, licking them with angelfire. The female vir reaper would have seemed lovely for a human but I could see what she really was. Her inky black wings where spread out wide and they seemed to flash in and out when you looked at them carefully. The vir reaper had dark brown skin that was smooth but was covered with words that I couldn’t make out. The worse part was it took everything I had not to run from those piercing red eyes but I held my ground.

“Who the hell are you?” I smirked trying to hide how scared I was. “I sure don’t remember meeting you before.” I stepped back remembering all the grueling training Rathanael had put me through, that girl is a maniac.

“I feel hurt Xathanael that you don’t remember me from the last time that I killed you,” she laughed.

It hit me then, the memory, me all alone in an abandoned warehouse. Ratha was caught up fighting off some lupines a good 50 feet away from me. I wanted to stay behind and help her but she told me to go find the demonic vir reaper. Rath could handle herself but I still felt wrong leaving her alone to fight off the lupines. I gave a quick glance back at her as she did the same smiling back at me and I was on my way.

With my swords in hand, I entered the abandon warehouse ready to fight. I could feel the energy from the vir reaper potent and blood thirsty rushing around me. I moved into the grim in order to be on the defensive. As soon as I entered I was knocked flat on my back. What the hell? I wasn’t able to get back up when I felt claws rack across my throat and I was dead.

“You, you’re Lillith,” I growled. I ran toward her pissed of as hell when out of no where Rath lands in front of me with her wings spread out to block me from Lillith. Her brown skin smooth with the tattoos I had placed on her all those ages ago were glowing red hot.

“I see your little bodyguard came to your rescue unlike the last time,” hissed Lillith. “I should have dealt with her painfully slow after I killed you.” There was huge smirk on her face then as she savored the memory. Lillith’s smirk began to grow bigger and bigger until you could see some of her ravaged teeth pointing out, sharp and ready to tear.

None of this of course fazed Rath.

“Nice to see you to Hag,” responded Rath. “I see your still bitter, smelling, and have nothing better to do.” I couldn’t see Rath’s face but I knew she had a grin like a Cheshire cat.

“Come then if you think you can take me as if you ever could before,” Lillith laugh. Her laugh was like a crazed maniac ready to create a panic.

“It would be my pleasure,” said Rath as she launched toward Lillith with her sword drawn.

I couldn’t just let two females fight over me; so, I got in on the action. Rath, who somehow dropped her sword, had Lillith penned to a tree fighting with her bare hands. The girl was strong but I was stronger. I ran toward them ready to give the final blow when Lillith kicked up and sent Rath flying. I jumped up and caught her under her wings before she hit the ground.

“Rath are you ok?” I asked looking to see if she had any bruises. Rath’s face was contorted but that didn’t stop her from yelling. “There are more important things to worry about,” she growled. I shock my head and ran after her.

It was on now.

Poet said...

“Rath, follow my moves,” I yell as I jumped over her. There was no fear inside me now only rage toward Lillith who thinks she can kill me twice and get away with it. This was her last and final time. My swords were blazing chaotically with angelfire as I pounced on Lillith.

Lillith being the coward that she really was flew up to dodge my attack but Rath was already two steps ahead of her. Rath had picked up her sword from earlier, flew down and penned her to the tree with her sword protruding out of Lillith’s body. The vir coughed up blood, lashing her power in order to save her from what was coming. The effort was futile and she new it but being a demonic vir reaper that didn’t matter; only survival did.

“To think you thought you were going to kill me a second time is bold don’t you think?” I asked in a smug tone. I walked toward her carefully shielding myself with my power to fend off hers that continued to lash out randomly. I lend toward her slowly while Rath held her hands penned against her and whispered; “Now you will know how it feels to die Lillith. Rath move out the way.”

I swung and crossed by swords of angelfire to dispose of her in one swoop. When my swords connected with her the angelfire engulfed her into its embrace and she was ashes. Of course before leaving she said, “You will pay for his Xathaneal, the Preliator, mark my words.”

Rath looked towards me with a smile on her face holding her side as I was walking toward her. I put my light brown hand on her cheek before she pulled away from me automatically.

“Come on lets get you of home Xath, and bandaged up from your bruises,” she said as soon as I was about to fall on my face.

“Thanks Rath, what could a brother like me do without you?” I asked.

“Nothing, because your to fudging stubborn to listen to me in the first place.” is all she said smiling.

I'm taking a shot at this, Hope you like it! :)

I took a deep breath as I sprang to the water’s surfice. My whole body shivered from the cold water, but I got over it, as long as I kept moving.
“Come on in the water’s great!” I half-lied.
Will’s green eyes looked back at me like I’d lost my mind. “Ellie, I really don’t think that now’s the time to be swimming when we should be looking Pegatha. This is her domain and she could be anywhere.”
“Will, listen, sometimes you need to take a break and just enjoy your surroundings.” I playfully splash water his way.
After a pregnant pause, Will finally gives his head a little shake as starts to undo the buttons on his shirt.
I continue to splash water his way, while I nonchalantly watch the striptease playing out in front of me. Will shakes off the last of his pants and gives me a smug and satisfied grin, clearly he caught me watching.
Standing there on the sandbank, he continues to smile, his green eyes full of life and mischief. He takes slow steps down the bank until the water has reached his hips. He stands there shivering as his flesh begins to fill with tiny goosebumps.
Unable to control myself, I dive down into the water and grab at his ankles. He body immediately begins to wiggle at my efforts. Haha I think triumphantly as I have just found a week spot on this man.
Using my currently occupied state of mind, to his advantage, Will grabs me around the waist and attempts to dump me deep into the water. But before he can get that far I wrapped my legs around his waist and squeeze tight.
“Listen buddy, if I’m going in, than I’m taking you with me.” I say with my sweetest smile.
“Is that right? Well we’ll just have to see about that won’t we?” Will responds with mischevious eyes.
I can’t help smiling back, I wrap my arms tighter around his neck, “Well I guess we w-“ I was cut off by a sudden clawing at my ankles.
“What happened?” Will asks worriedly.
I just shake my head as I attempt to see through the dark murky water, “I don’t kn-“
I’m cut-off again as the claw grabs on tight and pulls me deep into the water before I have time to catch my breath.
“Ellie!” I hear Will’s panicked shout.
I try not to panic as I’m pulled further. Getting my bearings, I lash a tight jab with my left foot and make contact with something boney and slimy. The kick disorients my attacker enough to give me the chance to rip free from it’s grasp and reach the surface.
I gasp and cough.
“Ellie watch out!” Will has grabbed his khopesh sword from his pants. His eyes are trained behind me.
I turn and gasp again at the sight emerging from the water before me. This reaper is unlike any other I’ve ever seen. It rises up to at least eight feet high, each of it’s sides has at least ten gills, that spring open with every breath it takes. The weirdest thing is, that it’s entire body seemed to be made completely of fluids, giving it the ability to go transparent.
I was left staring at the spot where I last saw the reaper when suddenly I felt a twisting constraint on my throat. My hands try to claw at the constraining vice, when suddenly the reaper appears, it’s soulless black eyes staring into mine. It smiles, showing off to rows of the most jaggedly sharp teeth.
Continuing to smile it responds, “Preliator, I believe you were expecting me.”
Everything around me grows quiet, I can no longer hear Will battling his way toward me, all I see is the grotesque face of the reaper before me. Just before I black out from lack of oxygen I say the one word I know this reaper will want to hear, Pegatha…

Happy Halloween!

My boots clatter against the cobblestones as I draw my sword from its scabbard. My clothes, pitch-black, are designed to keep me in camouflage as long as possible. But I know it isn’t possible to conceal me. Not when my hair shines like the beacon of a lighthouse. Not when I’m meeting this reaper.
I step out of the darkness, into the light. The reaper steps out too, mirroring my every step. “Hello, lovely.”
“I didn’t think it was in the nature of your kind to flirt.” I keep my eyes firmly trained on my blade.
“It’s not. I’m one of a kind.”
“I don’t doubt that.” I try to size up the situation. This reaper is one of the biggest I’ve fought, and I’ve fought – and killed – quite a few. He shows confidence, no signs of weakness. I’ve trouble ahead, the obvious reasons disregarded.
A huge claw tears out a chunk of my side. I grit my teeth and can feel my eyes water. “You’re going to regret that.”
He laughs and neatly sidesteps my slash, although I do manage to tear his flank. “You know, I don’t think I will. I think you’ll regret it instead.”
“I think you’re wrong.” But I know he’s right. I’m slowing. My only hopes are that it will be quick and painless, and that I’ll have created a diversion for someone else to slip through. I can only hope.
At last, he has me pinned to the ground. I stiffen. Some reapers have been known to rape before the killing.
But instead of lifting the waistband of my jeans, he slashes down at my unprotected abdomen. The pain begins – first, a sharp burn, then settling around me in waves of red.
My thoughts are growing hazy from the pain and from watching the blood spill out of me. I swallow and turn away. “Just get it over with.”
“My dear, when do you think I’d just ‘get over with it’? You know me.” he drawls. “Of that I’m sure.”
“No!” I shriek when I realize what’s happened. “You, you killed him–“ Tears trickle out of my eyes.
“It’s all in the business.” He brings his lips down to mine, reveling in one last kiss. “You will be mine forever.” Then, in a movement so fast I can barely see it happen, he lifts my sword and slices my neck.

A dark form suddenly gained Sarah’s attention, she pressed her cheeks against the cool glass with rapt attention it looked like-- a man but he had wings, like an angels. They were shadowed by the creeping night, but her eyes could make them out, downy against the sky, flecked with dark feathers, giving them the appearance of a Dalmatians spots, they stretched wide, like long and insistent fingers against the sky, as the man’s form met the concrete outside of the salon.
Sarah shot from her chair and raced outside, even the bell jingling over the door didn’t seem to make her mother looked up. It got the man’s attention though. When he turned around, and looked at her, Sara smiled and waved at him, he smiled back at her, dimples popped along his face and his bright ice blue eyes locked with hers, “hi there cutie” he said. Sarah stood in awe of his eyes, they were pretty, ice blue, she stood on her tippy toes, as if to look over his hair, which fell and stopped at his ears, a mess of gold like sunlight behind clouds. Sarah blinked rapidly, suddenly remembering that it was rude to stare, but unable to take her eyes off the boy’s face. He was so… pretty, like all a prince in her favorite movies. Dusted gold hairs hung loosely around his face, defined jaw, full dark red lips and very prominent cheek bones.
He smiled at her again, “shouldn’t you be inside?” he said, “I don’t like the salon” she said, moving a bouncy curl of her own blonde hair off her forehead, he turned around to face her still grinning, “boring huh?” he said, he walked closer to her and even though he was a stranger she was happy to shake the hand he outstretched at her, “what’s your name angel?” he asked, “I’m Sarah, but I’m not the angel, you are!” his grin disappeared for a second, then it returned brighter than before, “you think so?” she nodded “what’s your name?” he brought her hand to his mouth, “I’m Lucky” he said. Then he gently pulled her little hand, she flew off her feet and into her arms, and then they both were moving, Sarah’s little hands clutched at his shoulders, he hadn’t wanted to do this… he was an idiot for stopping, and now he had put this little girls life in danger, it was just like with his family, just like with Eden. It’s why he’d stopped for her, she reminded him of his greatest mistake.

pt. 2
He rushed forward, already feeling the fleeting lashes of power from the Vir that had been tailing him since he’d hit Maine, the girl named Sari, she was a bit older than him—in appearance—her hair a wild mess of onyx, with eyes the same color, she was the reason he was so rushed. She was the one who they’d sent to end him, he knew way to much about the Vir’s plans, he had wanted to find the Preliator, or at least Will…, he didn’t like to let his thoughts wander to Will… not when he still didn’t know what his feelings would do. Pushing power to the forefront of his muscles and bones, he jumped, feeling Sarah snuggling into his shoulder, their bodies barreled through the air, as another lash of raw power smashed into the sidewalk just outside the Salon, he knew the women inside couldn’t see, but wouldn’t they be in for a rude awakening when they saw the damage, especially mother of the year inside who’d let her daughter leave out of a door that RANG every time someone entered or exited. It was impossible not to look up at those things. A lash of power struck him between his wings, he grunted, and clutched Sarah to his chest. Doing the next best thing to putting her down on the sidewalk, he placed her on the gravel covered roof of the salon, she grabbed for him but he moved out of reach and whispered “stay put princess” Sarah watched as Lucky jumped off the roof.
She frowned, as another person appeared in the sky, a cruel looking lady—crueler then the lady inside the Salon, The two winged people raced through the sky, they both wanted to hurt Lucky, Sarah thought, but she couldn’t help but smile as Lucky fought her off, the women reared back, smashing into the sidewalk. Only for a second, before she stood, her hair blew up, as wind roared to life around her, then she shot air that looked like Lucky’s—but was black, toward him, it shot through his chest, and she closed her eyes as Luck’s body shook, and fell from the air, smashing into the sidewalk just beneath the pebble roofed Salon, she couldn’t stop herself, her little legs where already moving, running across the gravel and reached the edge of the roof she was about to shout, but then Lucky was moving, his body shot forward, his wings reared from his back, and screaming he shoved a long silver sword through the her tummy.
For once he'd been able to protect someone besides himself, Eden's laughing face flashed before his eyes, and he had to shut them.
